Living GreenŽ VS BARLEYGREENŽ
Living GreenŽ is 100% organic
barley juice powder. It is grown in an ancient lakebed that dried up 50 years
ago. It is surrounded by mineral rich mountains formed by volcanoes and
geothermal wells. A whole spectrum of trace and essential minerals and clays
have washed down for thousands of years and deposited into the lake. The algae
and other aquatic life of the lake rendered these minerals more bio-available.
The elevation of the lakebed is more than a mile above sea level.
The adversity imposed at higher elevations produces plants of higher
nutritional value. Alfalfa grown at this farm contains more protein than any
other alfalfa grown in Utah according to tests done at the University of Utah.
Utah produces some of the best alfalfa in the world.
The farm is isolated miles away form other farms and is not
susceptible to cross contamination of pesticides, herbicides, and chemicals
that can contaminate the air, soil, and water. The farm and processing
facilities are certified organic by Q.A.I., one of the most renowned
international organic certification agencies.
Years of research and development have produced a unique and revolutionary new drying method called
Low Temperature BioComplete Insta-Dry. It is an all natural process that locks
the qualities of fresh live plants into readily useable, stable, dry powders.
This process dries fresh barley juice at 88 degrees F. into a powder in
approximately 2 seconds. It produces a stabilized powder, retaining the natural
flavor, enzymes, and nutrients of the fresh, young barley leaves.
Independent laboratory tests performed at Rutgers University
Center for Advanced Food Technology, Irvine analytical Laboratory, and AAA
Laboratory found Living GreenŽ contained 100% more protein, 705% more Beta
Carotene, 97% longer antioxidant activity, 59% more potassium, 115% more
calcium, and 428% more iron than BarleygreenŽ.
Living GreenŽ smells and
tastes like leaves freshly cut from a mountain meadow.
Living GreenŽ Incorporated
offers barley grass, wheat grass, and alfalfa juice powders. The barley is also
available in capsules.
BarleygreenŽ is 60% barley juice powder, 32% maltodextrin from corn,
5% cooked brown rice, and 3% kelp ash that has been heated to 1000 degrees
C. Maltodextrin is listed as a highly
glycemic food and the American Diabetic Association recommends people with
blood sugar problems avoid it. Maltodextrin is also a common allergen. The rice
and maltodextrin are used to stabilize the barley juice powder and retard
clumping. Kelp ash is added to increase the pH of the product. The barley grass
is grown in Oxnard, CA next to the Pacific Ocean.
